Final XReco Meeting 

From July 8 to 10, GTI participated in the eighth and final in-person meeting of the XReco project consortium that took place in Basel, Switzerland. During the meeting, the progress achieved from the start of the project until now was presented.

GTI showcased the evolution of the Free-Viewpoint Video (FVV) Live service, emphasizing its integration with virtual scenarios created in Unity and Unreal. The live demonstrations illustrated how this system delivers volumetric content by transmitting view-dependent 2D video, enabling truly immersive and interactive experiences.

Additionally, enhancements to the 3D reconstruction service using Structure from Motion (SfM) were presented, showing a remarkable increase in reconstruction quality and greater automation of the process thanks to the new pipeline. Among the most notable advances is the ability to automatically crop the main object of the scene based on the position of the cameras.
