Awards for academic excellence 2022/23

On May 20, 2024, the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (ETSIT) presented the awards for academic excellence for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Among the award winners was Lucía Cristina Martín Pérez for her master's thesis entitled “Implementación de un sistema de detección de defectos en placas de acero basado en arquitecturas siamesas de redes neuronales y esquemas de entrenamiento con pocos datos”, directed by Carlos R. del Blanco, professor of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes. The master's thesis focuses on the detection of defects in the manufacturing process of steel plates using deep learning and few-shot learning techniques.

This recognition reflects his effort and dedication in the Master's Degree in Telecommunication Engineering. The words of the director of the ETSIT, Manuel Sierra, emphasized the importance of combining excellence and work capacity to achieve these awards.

The event, supported by numerous entities and companies such as Indra, Cabify, Huawei, and Telefónica, underlined ETSIT's commitment to educational quality and academic excellence.
