General Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle Engineering Chair

The UPM-CESEDEN Chair announces the VIII edition of the General Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle Engineering Chair awards. It recognizes the outstanding work of professors, researchers, and students at the UPM on technological issues related to defense and security. The call seeks to highlight academic and research talent, thus strengthening the connection between the UPM and the Armed Forces. Participants who have developed research or academic work during the 2022-2023 academic year in areas such as armament, surveillance, and cybersecurity have the opportunity to stand out and contribute to innovation in defense and security. The call pays tribute to the memory of General Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle, promoter of the Royal Spanish Academy of Sciences.

On December 11, Daniel Fuertes, a PhD student at GTI, received the “General Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle Chair of Engineering” award for the best paper in a JCR journal in the fields of defense and security, with the aim of improving defense individually and collectively, for the work entitled “Solving routing problems for multiple cooperative UAVs using transformer networks".
