International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Today, February 11, is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, an important day for women and girls to recognize the fundamental role they play in science and technology (STEM). One of the main objectives of this day is to eliminate gender stereotypes within the STEM field, encouraging scientific and technological vocations in girls, making visible the work of women working within this field.

Esther Madejón, Telecommunications Technical Engineer and colleague of GTI is responsible for the dissemination and communication of the European high-tech project 5G-RECORDS that contemplates the application of 5G technology for emerging multimedia content production services.

Esther has led the creation of a newsletter that collects 14 STEM stories of the 14 female researchers involved in the project, showing the great diversity of activities carried out by the women within the project.

With this newsletter Esther aims to make visible the role of women who are part of the project's research team in order to promote female referents within the STEM field, demonstrating that diversity in research brings new perspectives and creativity.

You can acces the newletter here: https://www.5g-records.eu/index.php/communication#newsletter
