#escaparates11F

Made in Zaragoza and 11defebrero have organized within the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2022, the initiative #escaparates11F promotes and gives a voice to women involved in STEM.

From February 1 to 15, store windows of the city present the stories of 58 brilliant scientific women. The store window of “La Rinconada del Queso” is dedicated to our colleague Marta Orduna, PhD student at the Image Processing Group (Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes - GTI) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The purpose of her thesis is to research on quality, presence and emotions in virtual reality communications.

The 58 store windows have been divided into tours which can be completed by general public and fill their passport to win amazing presents! In each local shop, the corresponding scientist presents her research and interacts with the audience. Last Saturday, February 12, Marta Orduna was presenting her research to a public from children to adults. A wonderful experience in which the researcher could brought her thesis closer to, hopefully, future researchers.

Marta discovered the large number of activities carried out in Zaragoza and how the local shops promote and support them, making the city one of the most active in terms of events related with February 11. In addition, she had the opportunity to know amazing Scientifics who present their research and her additional initiatives to promote the value of the research in the society.
