DESEi+d 2025

On November 11th, Celia Ibáñez Usón participated in the XII National R&D Conference in Defense and Security (DESEi+D 2025), held in Zamora from November 11 to 13, 2025. The event brought together researchers, professionals, and institutional representatives to present technological advances and share cutting-edge solutions in the field of defense and security.

DESEi+D 2025 1

During the conference, Celia presented her work titled “Robust geo-registration of aerial images using computer vision / Georegistro robusto de imágenes aéreas mediante visión artificial,” a research effort focused on improving the precision of aerial image geolocation beyond the limitations of traditional GPS systems and inertial sensors.

Her approach integrates advanced computer vision techniques with temporal correspondences between consecutive images, along with careful preprocessing of map descriptors. This combination enables the rectification of oblique aerial views into near-nadir perspectives, achieving more reliable and precise alignment with satellite maps.

The results demonstrate substantial improvements in accuracy and stability, particularly in real-time operational scenarios, making this method a relevant contribution for critical defense and security applications.
